Vagamon, also known as Scotland of East is a hill station located in the Idukki district of Kerala, a state in the southern part of India. It is a popular tourist destination known for its scenic beauty, serene atmosphere, and pleasant weather. Vagamon is situated at an elevation of around 1,100 meters above sea level and is surrounded by rolling hills, tea plantations, cardamom plantations, waterfalls and lush green forests.
The town offers many attractions to visitors including the Vagamon Meadows, a vast open grassland that offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the Kurisumala Ashram, a Christian monastery situated on a hilltop.
